PATERSON- Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders has announced the hiring ofDeborah Rucki Drake as the new health officer for the Passaic County Department of Health. Mrs. Drake officially started in her new role on March 17, 2003. The department of health is located in the Administration Building Annex at 317 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Mrs. Drake received her Bachelor degree in Biology from New Jersey City University and her Master of Public Administration-Health track from Seton Hall University. Additionally, Mrs. Drake received a Master Catechist from Felician College.

Mrs. Drake entered the Environmental/Public Health field in 1978 and has witnessed the expansion of roles within Health Departments. She has experience in programs such as air, noise, pesticides, elevated blood lead levels, air toxics, Right-to-Know, Hazardous Materials Response, West Nile and Bio-Terrorism Preparedness. Mrs. Drake has an extensive background in enforcement of environmental regulations.

Mrs. Drake’s philosophy envisions all of the Passaic County Departments working as a team serving the public for their common good. She wants to reinforce the fact we are working to ensure a better quality of life for all people within our community.
