The mission of the Division of Epidemiology, Environmental and Occupational Health is to protect the citizens of the State and the visiting public from hazards found in the environment, home, and workplace through appropriate surveillance, intervention, education, and outreach.

With the input of local municipal health departments and hospitals, The Passaic County Department of Health (PCDH)  epidemiology staff will work to evaluate and improve the timely and thorough reporting of outbreaks of disease.  The PCDH is committed to eliminating public health threats and achieving positive surveillance results through consultation, communication and partnering.
